Memorandum from General Bryce Poe II
For Pilots Only. This memorandum from General Bryce Poe II, a United States Air Force four-star general who served as Commander Air Force Logistics Command from 1978 to 1981, was written after my Dad’s article “For Pilots Only” ran in the January 1980 Aerospace Safety magazine. A call out in the article read: “Every now and then, an article appears that stands out … one that strikes home and says what needs to be said clearly and concisely. We believe this article falls into that special category and recommend it as important reading”.
I have never been a pilot but have read it several times recently, and I can tell you that it is just as applicable and relevant for pilots today as it was when it was written 43 years.
